After a long business trip, I was eager to get home and enjoy Halloween. But when I arrived, I noticed something off—my Halloween decorations were gone from my yard and had reappeared across the street in my neighbor Sandra’s yard.
Halloween is my favorite holiday, and I go all out with decorations, so seeing my setup in her yard was infuriating. After midnight, I grabbed some red paint and wrote on her fence: “I STEAL MY NEIGHBOR’S DECORATIONS TO WIN A PRIZE FOR BEST HOUSE!”
The next morning, the neighborhood council came by to judge decorations. They saw my message and realized what Sandra had done. Sandra tried to defend herself, but the judges awarded me the “Best Decorated House” title.
As Sandra fumed, I simply smiled and said, “Happy Halloween, Sandra.”
