On March 23, 1994, Aeroflot Flight 593, traveling from Moscow to Hong Kong, crashed, killing all 75 passengers and crew. The tragedy occurred after Relief Captain Yaroslav Kudrinsky allowed his children, Yana and Eldar, to sit in the cockpit.
Though the autopilot was on, Eldar accidentally disengaged it by adjusting the controls, causing the plane to lose stability. Despite the crew’s attempts to correct the situation, overcorrections led to a stall and spin. The crash, caused by pilot error and a regulatory violation, resulted in the deaths of everyone on board.
