Science Shows That Women Sleep Better Next To Dogs Than Men

New research from Canisius College in New York suggests that women sleep better next to dogs than humans or cats. The study found that 55% of women shared their bed with a dog, and those who did reported better sleep quality.

Dogs’ sleep patterns align more closely with humans than cats’, making them better bed partners. Unlike human partners, dogs tend to adapt to their owners’ sleep schedules and offer a sense of security, possibly deterring intruders with their bark. Additionally, dogs stay still at night, unlike cats, who often move on and off the bed.

While dogs may offer the best sleep benefits for some, individual experiences vary. More research is needed to fully understand how pets affect sleep quality. Still, the study highlights the potential benefits of co-sleeping with dogs for many pet owners.
