Walter returns from work to find his baby, Logan, crying uncontrollably. His wife, Abby, is distraught after trying everything to soothe him. When Walter checks the crib, he finds a dictaphone playing Logan’s cries and a ransom note demanding $200,000 for Logan’s return. Suspecting a janitor he insulted at the hospital, Walter convinces Abby to involve the police.
However, a threatening message forces Walter to abandon that plan. He delivers fake ransom money but discovers the real kidnapper has outsmarted him. Returning home, Walter finds Abby and Logan missing. He realizes Abby staged the kidnapping with his brother, James.
Walter tricks Abby into bringing Logan to a hospital by claiming a medical emergency, involving police and FBI. Abby and James are arrested, and Logan is safely returned. Though Abby reveals Logan isn’t biologically Walter’s son, Walter vows to raise him as his own, determined to provide a better life.
