Tori’s life falls apart when her parents abandon her and her two younger brothers. At just 15, she’s forced to protect them until they’re taken by child services. Sent to a cold foster home, Tori runs away multiple times, eventually living on the streets, working odd jobs to survive. She finds solace in cleaning at a small shop, saving enough to enroll in college and eventually become a store manager.
Years later, as she settles into her new life, her estranged parents show up, asking to stay with her as if nothing ever happened. Furious, Tori confronts them, reminding them of their abandonment. She gives them a ten-dollar bill her father once gave her, symbolizing how little their help had meant to her. After they leave, Tori feels a sense of closure, finally free from her past.
