When I asked my neighbor, Shannon, to stop sunbathing in bikinis in front of my son’s window, I never expected her to retaliate by planting a filthy toilet on my lawn with a sign reading, “FLUSH YOUR OPINION HERE!”
Shannon’s antics started when she moved in, painting her house in bright colors and sunbathing provocatively in front of my 15-year-old son, Jake’s, window. After I politely asked her to move, she mocked me and refused. Days later, she placed the toilet on my lawn, claiming it was “self-expression.”
Despite her disruptive behavior, including late-night karaoke and drum circles, I kept my cool. Then, one day, a firefighter showed up, responding to a false report from Shannon about a sewage leak from the toilet. He quickly dismissed her claims, and karma continued its course.
Shannon’s sunbathing days ended when her sprinkler malfunctioned, drenching her in mud while our elderly neighbor laughed. Quiet returned to our street, and Shannon even installed a privacy fence. The next morning, Jake asked if it was safe to open his blinds, and I joked that the “show” had been canceled.
He grinned, saying he missed the toilet. “It was like a really ugly lawn gnome,” he said. I laughed, “Don’t joke—she might install an entire bathroom set!”
