My Husband Wouldn’t Take Any Photos of Me During Our Vacation — His Explanation Stunned Me, but the Way I Got Back at Him Brought Him to Tears

Hi everyone, Hannah here. I have a tough story to share. I’m a 38-year-old mom of two, married to Luke for nearly a decade. On our recent trip to Mexico, I was excited to reconnect, but Luke’s behavior shocked me. He refused to take photos with me, often saying, “I’m not in the mood.” I felt hurt, especially since I was feeling good in my new dress.

I noticed he was secretive with his phone, and when I looked at it while he was in the shower, I found a cruel message he sent to friends, mocking my appearance. I was devastated and angry. To show him his words had consequences, I posted photos on Facebook, hinting I was looking for a new vacation partner. Friends supported me, calling me beautiful.

Later, I learned about an inheritance from a distant uncle. When Luke found out, he brought me flowers and apologized but suggested I use the money to get a trainer. I was furious. I told him I was divorcing him. His reaction revealed he valued my money more than me.

I began making arrangements for the divorce, realizing I didn’t need his validation. I focused on myself and my kids, working out and pursuing new interests. I even ran into Luke later; he noticed my changes but I didn’t engage.

Now, I feel free to live on my terms. What do you think? Did I handle it correctly, or was my reaction overboard? What would you have done?
