My husband insisted on having a third child – after my reply, he kicked me out, but I turned the situation around on him

When my husband, Eric, suggested having a third child, I hit my breaking point. I was already overwhelmed managing two kids, cooking, cleaning, and working part-time, while Eric believed his only role was providing financially. One evening, he suggested adding another baby, which pushed me to confront him about his lack of involvement in parenting. His response was dismissive, and his mother and sister sided with him, making me feel isolated.

After a heated argument, Eric stormed out, and the next day, his family came over to try and convince me to back down. I stood my ground, telling them that I had changed and wasn’t the same person Eric married. Later that night, Eric demanded I leave, but I insisted the kids would stay with him.

I packed up and filed for divorce, securing full custody and financial support. In the end, I’m proud I stood up for myself. Was I right to leave, or did I go too far?
