My Ex-husband’s Fiancée Demanded I Change My Last Name Back to My Maiden Name – I Agreed, but Only on One Condition

After my ex-husband Mark’s fiancée, Rachel, demanded I change my last name because we share the same first name, I was stunned. I had kept my last name for over 15 years, mainly to share it with our kids. Rachel, who had moved in with Mark, had crossed several boundaries, including trying to make the kids call her “Mom” and invading their privacy.

When she barged into my house and demanded the name change, I calmly offered a condition: if she changed her first name, I’d consider it. She refused, leading to a heated exchange, but eventually, Mark apologized, acknowledging Rachel had overstepped.

A few months later, I learned Mark and Rachel broke up. The kids and I were relieved, and life became calmer without her influence.
