In 2005, Adriana Iliescu made headlines as the world’s oldest mother at 66 when she gave birth to her daughter, Eliza. Despite facing harsh criticism, Adriana remained confident, claiming she felt healthier than women half her age.
Adriana, who had long desired a child but faced setbacks, including miscarriages, finally succeeded with IVF. Eliza, born prematurely, spent time in the NICU but grew into a joyful and bright young girl. Adriana’s dedication to motherhood, despite her age, was evident. She promised to care for Eliza and made arrangements for her future in case anything happened to her.
Now 83, Adriana continues to write novels and work as a professor. Eliza, 17, is an honor student, excelling academically. Though Adriana’s age has led some to view her as Eliza’s grandmother, they share a strong bond. Adriana remains committed to giving her daughter the best future possible.
