A week after my wife Suzie gave birth to our twin daughters, I arrived at the hospital to bring them home, only to find Suzie gone, leaving behind a cryptic note: “Goodbye. Take care of them. Ask your mother WHY she did this to me.”
Confused and scared, I returned home to confront my mother. She denied any involvement, but I soon discovered a letter from her to Suzie, cruelly undermining her. It was clear my mother’s actions had pushed Suzie to leave.
I confronted my mother, told her to leave, and spent months searching for Suzie. A year later, I received a photo of Suzie with the twins and a message expressing her regret. After a year of searching, Suzie returned, explaining her struggle with postpartum depression and my mother’s harsh words.
She apologized for leaving, and we vowed to rebuild together, knowing our love could see us through.
