When Calla finds a lace robe in her husband Jason’s closet, she assumes it’s a romantic gift. But when her stepmother Lorraine shows up wearing it, Calla’s suspicions grow. Lorraine, who had already been acting strangely since Calla’s father’s death, seems to have a hidden agenda.
Calla confronts Jason, who denies giving Lorraine the robe, but after overhearing Lorraine on the phone planning to drive a wedge between her and Jason, Calla realizes Lorraine’s manipulative scheme. Lorraine planted the robe to make it seem like she and Jason were having an affair to force Calla out of the family home.
Determined to fight back, Calla and Jason confront Lorraine with the truth: the house, once thought to be Lorraine’s, actually belongs to Calla and Jason. Lorraine, realizing she’s lost, is forced to leave. Calla finally gains peace in the home her father built, donating the robe Lorraine left behind to charity.
