Keith hadn’t seen his son, Daniel, in years, and the shock of what he found now was overwhelming. Seven years ago, Daniel had been fine, but today, he was in a wheelchair. Adding to Keith’s turmoil, he realized the woman he’d insulted for the last half hour was his daughter-in-law—and the baby, his grandson.
The memories came flooding back. Twenty-two years ago, Keith and Sarah had fought over keeping their baby. Keith’s fear of their financial struggles led him to make choices that drove Sarah away. She left with their unborn child, and shortly after, Keith’s criminal activities caught up with him, landing him in prison for 15 years.
Upon release, Keith tracked down Sarah, only to discover she and her husband had died in a car accident a year earlier. Daniel, their son, survived but was left paralyzed. Determined to reconnect, Keith knocked on Daniel’s door. When his son rolled forward to answer, Keith knew it was time to make amends and be the father he had failed to be.
