As Burt shuffled to church, the autumn wind rustled the leaves. At 91, every step was careful, a reminder of his solitary life. One foggy morning, he heard a faint whimper from a soggy box. Inside, a tiny black and white puppy shivered, accompanied by a note: “Take care of him!”
