A homeless man asked me to take his dog, and a month later, I got an unexpected letter

A year after my husband, Jason, died, I was struggling to stay strong for my son, Liam. One cold afternoon, as we were leaving the grocery store, we encountered a homeless man with his dog, Daisy. He asked if we could take her, as he could no longer care for her. Despite my own struggles, Liam’s pleading eyes convinced me to say yes.

Over the next month, Daisy became a source of joy and comfort in our home. Then, one evening, I found a letter from the man, expressing his love for Daisy and his hope that she was safe and happy. Liam insisted we find him, so we searched the neighborhood and eventually found him at a soup kitchen. Daisy recognized him immediately and jumped into his arms. We began visiting him regularly, bringing Daisy and supplies.

Months later, we received another letter from the man, Edward, saying he’d found a job and was starting over. Edward became a part of our lives, and we learned that even small acts of kindness can change lives. Saying yes to helping Daisy changed everything for us, teaching us the power of love and kindness.
