Three’s Company Broke The Mold And Reshaped The World

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, television evolved with shows like Three’s Company, which broke stereotypes and captivated millions. The show centered on three roommates—two women, Janet and Chrissy, and one man, Jack—who live together despite their landlord’s disapproval. Jack, played by John Ritter, pretended to be gay to avoid complications.

Joyce DeWitt played Janet, a smart and responsible character, while Suzanne Somers portrayed the ditsy Chrissy. After Somers had a fallout with the producers and co-stars, her character was replaced. Three’s Company ran until 1984, with the cast continuing their careers in other projects. Although Suzanne Somers and John Ritter have passed away, their legacy endures through this groundbreaking show.
