Paramotor pilot Yanis Terzis recently made headlines for flying over the Great Pyramid of Giza and capturing rare footage of its summit. During his daring flight, he noticed symbols carved into the stone, which were later identified as modern graffiti left by climbers over the years.
Built around 2570 BCE for Pharaoh Khufu, the Great Pyramid was originally covered in smooth limestone, but centuries of erosion exposed its core. Climbing the pyramids was common until strict regulations were introduced in 2019 to preserve them.
Terzis’ aerial footage offers a unique perspective on the pyramid and surrounding landscape, showcasing the precision of ancient Egyptian engineering. Meanwhile, modern technology continues to uncover hidden chambers and secrets within the pyramid, keeping the mysteries of Giza alive.
