While at Gwinnett County Park with her children, Leslie Howe noticed a strange, furry creature. Though it seemed harmless, her motherly instincts stopped her kids from touching it. This proved to be a smart decision, as the creature was actually a venomous “pus worm,” whose bite can cause severe pain, nausea, and sweating.
The pus worm is dangerous and can affect children especially badly. People from Florida to North Carolina have reported painful encounters with this venomous caterpillar. If you spot one, stay away and keep children at a safe distance.
