Trump Asks Elon Musk to Save NASA Astronauts Stuck in Space

Donald Trump has called on Elon Musk to help rescue NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore, who have been stranded aboard the International Space Station (ISS) for over six months. The astronauts were supposed to return in June 2024, but a thruster malfunction delayed their journey. NASA planned for their return via SpaceX Crew-9, but that mission is now scheduled for March 2025.

Trump criticized the Biden administration for neglecting the astronauts’ safe return and urged Musk to expedite their rescue. Musk acknowledged Trump’s request on Twitter with a salute emoji.

NASA has confirmed that both NASA and SpaceX are working on options for the next crew rotation, with Crew-10 launching in late March 2025, after the new spacecraft is ready.
