Last September, I saw the family across the street chasing a poor pup off their property. She was in horrible condition—covered in mange, skin and bones, with a bleeding face—and nearly got hit by a car before running to me. I burst into tears, knowing she had been neglected and abandoned.
She stayed with us that night and never left. After a lot of care, Ali improved, and today she’s an energetic, loving part of our family. The vet had said she might never fully recover her coat, but she beat the odds. I’m grateful every day that she found us, and I can’t understand how anyone could treat her so badly. But one family’s loss was truly our gain.
