Eleanor, an elderly woman, trusted her son Andrew with her finances, but after he nearly had her kicked out of her nursing home, Nurse Claire grew concerned. Eleanor’s son demanded she sign over her assets to him, but Claire intervened, sensing his selfish motives. Eleanor, however, clung to her belief that “what goes around comes around.”
Andrew returned the next day with the papers, and Eleanor, trusting him, signed them. Claire was heartbroken for her. But when the nursing home informed Eleanor they could no longer afford her care, an unexpected delivery arrived: a bouquet of lilies and a letter from a man Eleanor had helped years ago when he was homeless. The man had donated enough money to save the nursing home, with the condition that Eleanor be cared for.
Eleanor smiled, knowing that her faith in kindness had been repaid. “What goes around comes around,” she whispered.
