My Wife and I Went to an Orphanage to Adopt a Child and Found a Girl Who Is a Carbon Copy of Our Daughter

Emily and I never expected our visit to the orphanage to lead to an unexpected reunion. Initially, we were unsure about connecting with a child, but as we walked among the playing kids, a little girl approached me. She looked strikingly like our daughter, Sophia, even sharing the same crescent-shaped birthmark on her wrist. Shockingly, she introduced herself as Angel—the name my ex-wife, Lisa, once wanted for a second daughter.

Years ago, after our divorce, Lisa had placed Sophia with me while leaving Angel in foster care, unsure of raising both children. When I confronted Lisa, she confessed, expressing regret. She’d hoped to reunite the sisters but never found the right moment.

With the orphanage’s help, we brought Angel home, and she and Sophia immediately bonded. Our home, now filled with laughter, stands as a reminder of how love creates paths we never imagined.
