When their father passed away, Julia and her mother, Mrs. Hanson, faced Helga’s fury over the will. Mrs. Hanson decided to leave Julia most of the inheritance, giving Helga only 30% due to their strained relationship. Helga, furious, threatened to sue and made cruel remarks to their mother.
Despite the tension, Julia tried to comfort Mrs. Hanson, but Helga continued to demand more, even after their mother’s death. At the funeral, Helga acted distraught, but it was clear to the family that her concern was insincere.
Months later, Julia came up with a plan to teach Helga a lesson. She promised Helga 50% of the sale of their mother’s house, knowing she had no intention of following through. When Helga eagerly accepted, Julia set up a safety deposit box with three $1 bills and a note that read, “That’s all you deserve.”
Helga’s reaction was furious, but it was too late. Julia had blocked her, and they never spoke again.
The lesson: Greed leads to nothing. Helga’s selfishness cost her everything, while Julia honored their mother’s wishes.
